The third day. The day that changed everything. The day that made our Savior more than just a prophet or a good teacher. This is the day that made Him the one true King. The Lord. The Ruler over sin and death.
With this great resurrection death was utterly defeated. The enemy lost all ground. The Kingdom of Light had won forever. Life is now ours to gain in Him.
When Jesus breathed His last on the cross the wrath of God was satisfied. Sin was broken and condemnation became powerless. The veil was torn giving us full access to the presence of God. The blood of Jesus paid the ultimate price for us. We must always be thankful for the cross.
But we can never forget the Resurrection.
All the power is in the resurrection. Yes the cross pardoned us from our sin but the grave, the empty grave, it freed us from the finality of death. The cross brought forgiveness, but the resurrection brought victory. Now we stand confident in love because God did not leave His Son in the grave. But He raised Him so that we can be raised.
The resurrection finalizes our inheritance. We are not just given forgiveness, but life itself. We are not just extended mercy, but grace.
With the cross our old life was put to death, and with the resurrection a new life begins. We lose the definition of ourselves apart from God and we now find all our worth in the Risen Savior. The Living Savior. He is the First among the living. He went into death and was raised to make a way for us. Without His resurrection we are not given the opportunity to live. Eternal life is only a distant dream if Jesus stays in the grave.
But He didn’t. He rose. He defied the skeptics. He kept His word even when all the disciples lost hope. When they all forgot the prophecies, He stayed true.
Jesus was raised to prove that our God is different. He gives us what nothing and no one else on earth can give us. Not art or science or any false gods. Only He could give us a Risen Savior. Only He would give His Son. Only He could defeat death. Only He would make a way for us to have eternal life with Him in His Kingdom. Only He would make us co-heirs with Christ.
Only God. Only our Father. Only I Am. Only Yahweh.
“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here has risen”
